AJC is *SIAO*

Just told my mum about the school asking students to pay $2 for a $1800 clock as a farewell contribution to the school. I did not even tell her that student's opinion were not asked and students had no say over what was bought with that $2.

But my mum's reply was simple.
"Siao!".

Comments:
One seriously nid to question the nid for the purchase of the $1800 clock. Pretty obvious whoever tot of this idea didnt really put much of his/her intellect into it. How is a $1800 clock so special from a $1.80 clock?

A 1 million dollar antique grandfather clock, compare it with a $1 wall clock, both serve the same purpose of telling us the time. Though the $1800 clock may add a trace of ambience to the hall, but paying tt extra $1799 to create this ambience, is simply out of the qn.

Having heard some of my classmates telling me tt its a mere $2 and i shdnt grumble tt much, i really want to clarify and reinforce wad i juz said. If i m supposed to make any contribution to the sch, in terms of monetary, seriously i really wish the money i donated will be put to gd use. Take for example, the money donated by last year j2 cohort went to e purchase of new pe dept lockers to safeguard our belongings. Tt i fully agree is money well spent and used in the appropriate way. Telling me to donate $2 to purchase a white elephant, i cant imagine wad more lame things the sch can come up wif to extort money from us. The clock thing is 1 of the lamest i encountered so far. If the $2 i m going to ''donate'' is going to the installation of air-cons in stuffy classes, i will be willing to do so, even if it costs up to $20.. Its for the benefit of e student population. 1.8k clock tt wd benefit the sch pop, i really wanna c for myself wad wonders tt clock can bring..

true. read yr comments on another blog too.

haha tt was my original post to tt kinghuang guy. Den i saw yr blog also featured a similar issue, so i juz blantantly copy and paste my original here so tt i wont nid to rewrite again =P

lol

Indeed, buying a $1800 clock is an extremely lame idea to waste the graduating students' money.

You know, $1800 is a lot of money. It can pay for somebody's scholarship. It can help a needy student get textbooks and a brand-new computer. It can even give the school gym a much-needed upgrade.

So why isn't the money pooled into stuff that really needs to be done? I thought my secondary school is bad enough. :-D
