Another adaptation.

This joke is from Eric's blog, on which it was mentioned that the original source was Jeff Hwang's blog (not linked from here):

A group of men are sitting in a sauna discussing business and stocks when suddenly a cellular phone rings.

"Hi honey, are you at the club?"

"Yes, dear."

"Honey you won't believe this but I'm standing in front of Giovanni's and there's a beautiful mink on sale in the window."

"How much is it, dear?"

"They're giving it away. Only $5,000. Can you believe it?"

"But you already have fur coats?"

"Please dear it's absolutely exquisite!"

"Fine, fine go ahead and buy it!"

"Thank you sweetheart. Oh, not to keep you much longer, but I passed by the Mercedes dealership this morning and saw their new convertible. It was to die for! I talked to the salesman and the one in the showroom is brand new, leather seats, power everything, gold coloured. What do you think?"

"Honey, come on, we already have cars!"

"You promised me that I could get a convertible!"

"How much is it?"

"You won't believe it but he said he'd let us have it for $85,000 fully loaded with all the options!"

"Okay, okay, go ahead and purchase it!"

"I love you, you're the best husband a wife could ask for. I hope I'm not pushing it, but remember our trip we took to Paris? Remember the Brown's place with the swimming pool, tennis courts? It's on the market to be sold. I saw it this morning at the Real Estate agency. If we bought it we would have a perfect place to stay during the cold winter months!!!"

"I had actually thought about it. You say it's on the market?"

"Really, you were actually thinking about it? Can I go make an offer on it? You know it's not listed very high, and it would be perfect for our type of lifestyle!!"

"How much is it listed at?"

"Only $425,000 sweetheart. It's a steal!"

"I guess we've got money put away. Go ahead and make an offer but no more than $415,000."

"This is turning out to be a great day! Can't wait to see you later tonight to celebrate!!!"

"See you tonight dear."

The man hangs up the cellular phone and asks, "So, whose phone is this?"

Butter vs Margarine

DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter? Read on gets very interesting...

Both have the same amount of calories. Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams. Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study. Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods. Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added! Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods. Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years. And now for Margarine.. Very high in trans fatty acids... Triple risk of coronary heart disease. Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) Lowers HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol) ... Increases the risk of cancers by up to five fold... Lowers quality of breast milk... Decreases immune response... Decreases insulin response.

And here are the most disturbing facts....

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC.......And margarine is initially BLACK, but it is DYED YELLOW to look like butter. These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance)..

YOU can try this yourself: purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things: no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies(yehyeh) will go near it (that should tell you something) . it does not rot or smell differently..because it has no nutritional value, nothing will grow on it...even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not find a home to grow.

Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast? Share This With Your Friends.....(Butter them up!)

I found this on the first hit for my google search (access it here):

It is probably the most frequent question that any nutritionist is asked. "So which is better for me: butter or margarine?" Although they both are sources of fat, to determine which is better for your health you have to look more closely at what kind of fats are found in butter and margarines.

Butter is made from the fat portion of cow´s milk, by agitating the milk fat in a churn until coagulation (solidification) occurs. Saturated fats are found in cow´s milk, but there is also a small amount of trans fats that occur naturally. Cow´s milk normally contains up to 3.7 % milk fat, but milk with 2% and 1% fat are common in dairy cases. Skim milk contains about 0.2 % milk fat.

Vegetable oils are the base for margarines. Soybean, olive, corn and canola are common oils used in the manufacture of margarines. But oils are liquid at room temperature. In order to produce solid margarine, unsaturated fats in the oil are converted to saturated fats by a process called hydrogenation. The level of unsaturated fats goes down in margarines and the level of saturated fats goes up. Even more important is the fact that during the process of hydrogenation to produce margarines, trans fatty acids are produced. Trans fat like saturated fat raises the level of low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in the blood, and so we should be limiting the amounts of trans fat in our diet. Yes, butter does contain less trans fat than margarines, but when the total of trans and saturated fat is compared, traditional vegetable margarines come out ahead of butter. Even better are margarines that are not hydrogenated. These products should be trans fat free.

You can find out more information about the butter vs margarine thing (an internet chain mail which began circulating around in June 2003) here. This website also says:

Surprisingly enough, there is a fair bit of truth to it. According to the latest findings in the medical world, margarine can increase the risk of heart disease, depending upon the type of fat contained in the spread. Previously, the dietary villain in the development of coronary disease Butter was presumed to be saturated fat, but new evidence points the finger to trans fat (also known as trans fatty acids). Although butter has its own set of dietary shortcomings, it does not contain trans fat.

In 1994, Harvard University researchers reported that people who ate partially hydrogenated oils, which are high in trans fats, had nearly twice the risk of heart attacks as those who consumed much less of the substance. Several large studies in the United States and elsewhere, including the Nurses' Health Study conducted by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health, have also suggested a strong link between earlier death and consumption of foods high in trans fat.

Trans fats occur naturally in small amounts in some foods, including meat and dairy products, but most trans fats in the American diet are formed when vegetable oils are chemically changed to give them a longer shelf life. Cookies, potato chips, baked products, and the like are particularly loaded with trans fats.

The Food and Drug Administration, the National Academy, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. and the American Heart Association all recommend consumers limit their intake of trans fat wherever possible. Moreover, the federal government has insisted that by 2006 all food labels disclose how much trans fat products contain.

Until that labelling change comes into effect, consumers should be wary of any foodstuff that makes mention of containing "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" ingredients. They should also not make the mistake of assuming saturated fats are now good for them or no longer pose any danger to their health. This is not a time to be wallowing in butter.

Those still tussling with the "butter versus margarine" controversy, or who just want to know how their margarine stacks up against others might find the following comparison chart informative. Numbers given in grams refer to how many grams of each particular type of fat there are per tablespoon of that brand. (A tablespoon of butter or margarine contains 14 grams.) Numbers given as percentages represent the impact of one tablespoon of that spread on the recommended daily allowance of that substance. Margarines sampled were of the "tub" variety. (The same margarines in "stick" form had consistently higher numbers.)

Because butter is an animal product, it contains cholesterol, amounting to 30 mg per tablespoon or 10% of the USDA recommended daily allowance. Margarines, because they are non-animal products, do not.

The preceeding chart says nothing about which margarines contain trans fats or how much because this information is not yet included on product labels.

Although a great deal of the information given in the e-mail is valid, one bit of intelligence is nothing more than hyperbole tossed in by the author in an effort to make his point more strongly. The claim that some comestible is but a "single molecule away" from being a decidedly inedible (or even toxic) substance has been applied to a variety of processed foods, but that type of statement (even if it were true) is essentially meaningless. Many disparate substances share similar chemical properties, but even the slightest variation in molecular structure can make a world of difference in the qualities of those substances.

Reporter and ME

Reporter: Hi weikiat!
Me: Hi reporter!
Reporter: Hows your hols?
Me: What is hols?
Reporter: Don't you know?
Me: Know what?
Reporter: What is hols?
Me: Why are you asking me whats a hols when i ask you the same question in the first place?
Reporter: Alright, alright. A hols is a short form for holiday.
Me: Chey, say until so complicated for what?
Reporter: How do i know that you are so stupid?
Me: Me? Stupid? You must be stupid?
Reporter: Why am i stupid in saying that you are stupid?
Me: Because i am clever and you are stupid.
Reporter: Oic
Me: Why are you so calm in accepting the fact that you are stupid?
Reporter: Because...
Me: Because you already know you are stupid and are stupid enough not to find anything wrong with it.
Reporter: No, because any comment that comes from a self-proclaimed clever person is stupid and unreliable.
Me: Reporter! Are you here to interview me? Or to start a fight with me so that youy have something exciting to report? I can even see the headlines now: Reporter interviews weikiat and end up dead.
Reporter: Don't assume that i'm the one who is dead.
Me: But it is easy to assume that.
Reporter: Why?
Me: According to a recent survey done by BinaBaLo Newspaper, reporter has 20% shorter life span then a average person.
Reporter: What is BinaBalo Newspaper?
Me: Its the most read paper in this planet which nobody heard of.
Reporter: I see. It must be very popular then.
Me: Yeah. And it is now obvious that you are the one who die, not me.
Reporter: Ok ok. I had enough of your nonsense. Back to the main question: Hows yr hols?
Me: What is hols?
Reporter: My god! Thats like only 2 minutes ago!
Me: I'm renown for my short term memory. Anyway, what's hols?
Reporter: For the last time, hols stands for holiday!
Me: Now that you mention it... when will holiday start?
Reporter: FARK YOU! It has already started!!!
Me: Oh dear...
Reporter: Sorry. I am profession. Shouldn't curse. Holiday started quite some time ago. What were you doing?
Me: I didn't now holiday started. Hence, i'm doing nothing.
Reporter: I thought holiday is suppose to be the time you are doing nothing? Why u thought holiday haven't start but u are already doing nothing?
Me: Because my never do anything in school. And i love to study during holiday.
Reporter: I think i have chosen the wrong person to interview...
Me: Pardon.
Reporter: Nevermind. (aside: I need to leave this nutcase now) Erm, i think i am dying. I have cancer. So i gotta go now. Bye! (ran away)
Me: See? Reporters do die early!

Seize The Mind. Part1

Sidenote: Seize the mind the the sequel to the Intelligent Enhancement Exp seris, which ended suddenly with the upcoming of the O lvel exams. As usual, my story will include real things that happen to me, and also fantasies of what i wished had happened. Warning: I might have indecent thoughts. Then again, who don't? (Lets leave Nuns and Monks out of this.)

Dear Diary

The sky bright bright and got the light and then i wake up. When i sleep that time, they tell me i sick and then i need to sleep so i very good and then listen to them and then i go and sleep. Then today i wake up and then got feel more clever because i can spell very good and then i know how to use some big letters. I very happy now and i want to thank you them.

Today and then they ask me to play the table tennis with my sister to see my whether i hit the ball or the ball hit me. So i dont want to let the ball hit me and then when the ball come and try to hit me i go and use my hand to push the ball away. Then they laugh loud loud and then tell me that i must use the bat to hit the ball. I say i got no bat and i dont want bat because they suck the red water. They laugh again and i feel i am very stupid again and they tell me that the one sie red and one side black thing on the table is a bat. So i hold the bat with all my fingers and then try to hit the ball when the ball come to hit me but then the ball hit my finger and fly away. Then they go and laugh and say that i must only hold the hard hard part and not the rubber part. I say ok and then at the last can hit the ball. I find the table tennis very fun and then i like to play it. I play happy happy and then got one loud pop sound out there. I see a broken mineral water bottle on the ground and i very scare because the bottle fall from the sky. Then one of them say that it is a killer litter and then someone is trying to kill me with a water bottle. Then they laugh and laugh and then i not happy already so i shout at them at also at the killer litter person. He very scared and shocked i can shout and fall off the flat. Then the ground hit him and then got the red water that the bat like to drink come out. I scare the bat come so i go and run away to my room and play with my tinage mewturn rinja turtur. I play and play and feel very happy again.

Then later at the dinner that time they ask me to eat the dinner and go to the red room. So i go to the red room and got a very pretty girl inside. I see on her card that she is the same year old as me. The she teach me english and also the maths and the science. She teach and teach but i dont know what she say but i just act i am listening because she very pretty and i like to look at her.

Her name is Ms Anianda.

Busy With Netingal

Been busy with the development of Netingal, a p2p file sharing client. In other words, it is a file sharing program that allow two users to share their files AND browse each other's computer AND enjoy high standard formated chat(you can customize the font, font size, bold, underline and italics of every single letter you send to your friend!)

The first public beta (means that the program is not complete yet, but is useable and is released for the public to test). In it, i've included an automatic bug report feedback feature, which will automatically sends information to me when an error occurs on the user's computer. Currently, it only keeps track of errors that occurs during file transfer, as this feature keeps giving me problem.

I also need many people to test it, to see if the problem is fully resolved so that i can decide if i have to take the pains of recoding the entire file transfer code, which is most likely to take me at least one week.

So people, when the first version comes out, be sure to test it fully!
If you have any feedback or suggestions or complains, please use the built in "Submit Feedback' feature in Netingal to reach all members of Unignal Software Team(I'm the core programmer and founder).

I'll post some screenshots when the program is ready.
