I have no idea how many times the prinicpal used the word "suggestion" today, repeating the idea constantly that "this and this" are all done because of the students' suggestion.

Library opening hour was extended slightly. Reading room closes abit later. All these were done (according to the principal) because of students' suggestion. (She spent 10 minutes bragging about it.) All these sounded very good, as if students are finally speaking up and the school is listening to students' suggestion, if not for the fact that these things were done in all other junior colleges automatically by their school authorities without any need for suggestion.

While other JCs already know what their students want and acted on it, ours only act on "suggestion".

The idea of students running their own school completely isn't so far off.

Comments:
haha i m an avid fan of yr posts.. juz to add on to the ''suggestions'' our reputable principal have raised: i went past this students forum board outside the general office during this evening. This board is aimed at getting students' feedback on related sch issue b4 the national day period.

Wad had stunned me initially was tt this board was so well hidden tt it totally didnt capture my attention until today.. Perhaps its the principal's reluctance to grant anymore requests, other den the ones she had already given permission to (eg wireless outside audi). Its her way to show tt the sch is actually concerned abt students feedback and i often quoted her saying "we do treat yr feedback v seriously'' and things liddat.

Giving great consideration to students' feedback is one issue, but the implementation is another separate issue altogether.. To put it flatly, the implementation part actually screws up the intended purpose.. for eg, the wireless at the area outside the audi was a blunder.. I acknowledge tt ppl can get access to e internet instantly by bringing their notebooks to these areas under wireless network and juz plug and surf.. without queuing up at e lib/FAR juz to secure a spot at the bloody terminal. But, wad's the use of surfing on yr notebk when u noe yr battery wd run down in less den half an hr.. And guess wad, the nearest main is like the blk 11 classrooms. Pretty neat if i do say so myself..

Argh so much for the suggestions but the lack of brains to implement it..

I never used the wireless. It is highly insecure (can easily see what others are doing using some ways) and also there are problems with logging on to the wireless.

anyone is better off using those from elementz lab. Don't even need password.
